Complete household, income, housing, utility, resource, and student-status questions. Review the portal’s information-needed checklist and submit requested proof.

Attend the scheduled interview. The worker will review program rules, finish any missing items, and tell you what verification is still needed.

DWSS generally sends a decision within 30 days. Tell the office if you have little or no money; eligible households may receive SNAP within 7 business days.
If approved
Your benefits are delivered on a Nevada EBT card. Save notices and note your review or recertification date.

IMPORTANT FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS
Being low-income alone may not satisfy the SNAP student rule.
Students enrolled at least half-time generally need a student exemption in addition to meeting the usual income and household rules. Common exemptions include working at least 20 hours a week, participating in federal or state work-study, having a qualifying disability, caring for a young child, or being under 18 or age 50 or older. The state agency—not this site—makes the decision.
