This is a practical overview, not an eligibility decision. Apply in the state where you currently live and let the agency review your full circumstances.
Open myCase and select SNAP. Utah allows you to file with your name, address, and signature first, then complete the remaining application.
02
Add household members, income, housing and utility expenses, and student information. You do not need documents just to submit the initial application.
03
Complete the eligibility interview and provide requested proof. Check myCase for notices, deadlines, and application status.
04
Ask about expedited service if food is needed immediately; qualifying households may receive SNAP within 7 days. Approved benefits load to a Horizon card.
If approved
Your benefits are delivered on a Utah Horizon card. Save notices and note your review or recertification date.

IMPORTANT FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS
Being low-income alone may not satisfy the SNAP student rule.
Students enrolled at least half-time generally need a student exemption in addition to meeting the usual income and household rules. Common exemptions include working at least 20 hours a week, participating in federal or state work-study, having a qualifying disability, caring for a young child, or being under 18 or age 50 or older. The state agency—not this site—makes the decision.
Listings were assembled from provider, city, county, state, and federal sources and reviewed in September 2026. Resources are ordered by approximate distance from campus, nearest first. Inclusion is informational, not an endorsement. If a listing has changed, use 211 for a current referral.
