How to apply for Arizona Nutrition Assistance (SNAP).
This is a practical overview, not an eligibility decision. Apply in the state where you currently live and let the agency review your full circumstances.
Start an application in Health-e-Arizona Plus. Your name, address, and signature establish the filing date; finish the remaining questions promptly.
02
Report who buys and prepares food with you, income, housing and utility costs, and your student status. Upload any verification the eligibility worker requests.
03
Complete the required interview. MyFamilyBenefits can show your interview deadline and let you upload documents after you apply.
04
Watch for a decision within 30 days, or as soon as 7 days if DES finds you eligible for emergency assistance. Approved benefits are loaded to a QUEST card.
If approved
Your benefits are delivered on a Arizona QUEST EBT card. Save notices and note your review or recertification date.

IMPORTANT FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS
Being low-income alone may not satisfy the SNAP student rule.
Students enrolled at least half-time generally need a student exemption in addition to meeting the usual income and household rules. Common exemptions include working at least 20 hours a week, participating in federal or state work-study, having a qualifying disability, caring for a young child, or being under 18 or age 50 or older. The state agency—not this site—makes the decision.
Listings were assembled from provider, city, county, state, and federal sources and reviewed in September 2026. Resources are ordered by approximate distance from campus, nearest first. Inclusion is informational, not an endorsement. If a listing has changed, use 211 for a current referral.
